Customer Review: disappointing
I'm not usually one to write a review, but this product and company warrants one. I was very excited to find this product available--it has just the features I wanted. The battery installation on the rain gauge, as mentioned by others, was quite an ordeal, but considering how often this is needed, not a big deal. I ordered in the spring, and was very happy with both temperature readings. throughout the summer, we used it to gauge when to turn on our whole house fan in the evenings. When the first rain came, my frustration began. After troubleshooting as directed, Oregon Scientific told me to send it in, that the gauge was not communicating with the main unit. That was September. I still have not received a replacement, despite calls every 1-2 weeks. The only response I get is, "that will ship next week, but we're out of stock now." Last week, I'd heard the same response enough, and called Amazon, asking what they suggested I do. Dealing with Amazon was the only positive part--after a few minutes of describing the situation, they sent me a new one, here in two days. I set it up... The new thermometer was very inconsistent, and after a day, stopped working altogether. Before this happened, I carefully tested several rain-gauge locations, set it up, and anticipated the rain that evening. No rain, at least according to my gauge. Then no communication with the main unit. I'm frustrated with not only the product, but the terrible customer service that Oregon Scientific provides. I'll be in touch with Amazon to see about a refund or exchange for a better-functioning product from another company. Any recommendations?
Customer Review: Works great. Nice when I'm out of town.
I purchased this product about two months ago and it has been working great. I have the rain sensor about 100 ft away on my back patio and always have had a good signal. The 10 day history is in my opinion the best feature, since you can view the specific rainfall day by day - a nice feature when you are gone for a few days.

This versatile gadget mounts on a wall or stands alone on a tabletop. Its display features easy-to-read, digital numbers, and indicates humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, time of day, date, plus daily minimum and maximum temperatures. Straightforward graphics also depict sunny, cloudy, partly-cloudy and rainy conditions. A pressure-trend indicator notes when pressure rises, falls, or stays steady. Temperature readings are available in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. An included cable-free model-THR138 sensor measures outdoor temperatures from -5 to +50 degrees Celsius or 23 to +122 degrees Fahrenheit. This weather station has a transmission range of 90 feet--between monitor and sensor--and forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours.

This handy tool also has an ExactSet Clock. Radio-controlled by the United States Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado, it resets daily to the hour, minute, and second for continued accuracy. It also automatically adjusts for daylight savings time. Both date and day of week can be displayed in English, French, or Spanish. A programmable alarm sounds with increasing volume for 2 minutes, rousing sleepers gradually. This weather system measures 7-1/4 by 5-1/4 by 2-3/4 inches, and weighs 1 pound as shipped. --Jessica Reuling
Customer Review: Weather at a Glance!
We received this weather station as a gift and have really enjoyed it. So, we decided that if we liked it, we might as well share the wealth. We've given this as a gift and it was very well received. It's nice to see what the forecast is going to be, and what the high & low has been. The only thing that proved annoying was when my husband accidently turned the alarm on. It took us days to figure out where the faint beeping sound was coming from. (Smile)
Customer Review: no backlight
The Idea of the product is good. However the product has no lighting at all on it. This has been troublesome considering you set your alarm at night (when it is dark) and you usually wake up when it is dark. Because there is no backlight you can't see the time or temp.

Additional features include: 12-hour clock which automatically sets itself to the U.S. atomic clock- never needs adjusting for Daylight Saving Time; Month/day calendar in English, French or Spanish; Monitors and displays indoor and outdoor temperature; Supports up to 3 remote temperature sensors that can receive transmission from sensor from up to 100 feet; Sensor can withstand cold weather of up to ?22 F (with lithium batteries). Slim and stylish, it?s the perfect office companion. You won?t miss another meeting with the atomic clock feature and you can easily scroll through the US time zones to figure out the time where your colleagues are. The RMR182A also comes with one remote sensor so you'll always be aware of the temperature outside the building.

Monitor the temperature in baby room, the greenhouse, or the wine cellar, up to three remote locations! Fall forward, Spring back--or is it Fall back, spring forward? Who cares! With this clock you will never have to worryabout it again--it continually
Customer Review: Good product, good price
I am quite satisfied with so far with this OS thermometer/atomic clock. It does everything it's supposed to do and I expected of it. Just be patient and the clock will set itself. My only complaint is that in certain lighting situations the display can be somewhat difficult to see.

Radio Controlled Atomic Alarm Clock sets itself using U.S. Atomic Clock radio waves. Monitors indoor and outdoor temperature. Wireless transmission frequency. Crescendo dual alarm with 8-minute snooze function. Low battery indicator. Table or wall mount option.

Customer Review: Easy
We purchases the base which comes with satellite monitor. We have the base inside, the other monitor outside and bought a second for our wine cellar. It was easy to set up and use. It is accurate and we haven't had any problems after a year.
Customer Review: Oregon Scientific BAR898HGA
This is a swseet system for monitoring the temperatures in 4 locations. I have the base unit in the study, one outside, one in the basement and one in the attic. The basement unit I use to monitor the humidity, as we have a lot of stuff stored there, and I want to be sure the dehumidifyer is set at the proper level. The attic unit I use to monitor the heat buildup in the summer to determine if I need to put in other cooling devices. The outdoor unit and the study unit have the obvious benefits. The system also maintains a perfect time that is set by the US satellite sytem, and so I adjust all other clocks and watches in the house to match this standard. I also view the base unit from time to time to see what the weather forecast is, but that is not its main use.
